Bill Clevlen – Bio

Bill Clevlen began his career by sneaking into a storage closet in the Dillards shoe department at the age of 19. He’d call into a popular radio show and tell jokes he’d written about politicians and current events. Within a few months, the radio show hired Clevlen to be a regular part of the program. For nearly 20 years, hundreds of thousands of radio listeners in St. Louis would listen on their drive home, even if it meant sitting in their driveway, until they heard Bill’s daily quips and jokes.

In 2013, Bill became fed up with reading negative stories about America. He launched a website to focus on road trips and to highlight only the positive things he’d learn along the way. Within six months – Bill transitioned into a full-time travel reporter and switched from telling jokes, to sharing uplifting and inspiring tales of travel and tourism.

Today, Clevlen’s Bill On The Road travel stories can be heard on popular syndicated radio programs like RMWorld Travel and The Travel Planners Radio Show as well as television stations and traditional media outlets across the U.S. Bill is also a regular contributor to a national audience on SiriusXM satellite radio.

He is the author of five travel books, including The Ultimate American Music Bucket List and the popular travel guide, 100 Things To Do in America Before You Die. As a frequent guest speaker, he’s entertained and educated conferences all over the country.

In addition to being a keynote speaker, he’s twice hosted the Mid America Emmy Awards and has been a lecturer for the prestigious Smithsonian Associates organization in Washington D.C.
